Leaving Sarfraz in Abu Dhabi, I take a plane across the Atlantic again .This next destination is 12990 km away in the suburban city of Murphy , north of Dallas, Texas.
I recall one fine winter morning in final year , after morning lectures finished , I went to the college canteen which was in contrast to the better hospital canteen’s breakfast. I found this guy outside the canteen on the brick ledge that was on the side of the tennis courts facing the anatomy department. This chap was sitting with some of my friends playing courtpiece or “ Rang” . I was like who is this guy and whats he doing with us ? I was then told his name and to my astonishment I was told he was in our class.
In 2004
Yes, he had mutually migrated in 3rd year prof. from AIMC, Lahore in place of Faisal Bhutta.He used to live in Waqas town area of Multan then and if anything was to go by from AIMC days how he got through that prof , only heaven knows. To come to nishtar straight in a prof setting with hardly an accumen to study, I can tell you the strangest things have happened and surviving those two profs in NMC in that era were not easy at all. Kudos to him and his prayers !
Since then he has been a changed person, always work friendly whether it was Ward 7 , post grad exams or his current nephrology aptitude in Texas. He loved the concept of a vlog but never wanted to do one ! He labelled me as not having enough “masala”! Well, we know where that leads to on such a platform ! Still perseverance led me for him to agree to do one, the only issue left was navigating his busy schedule.
An individual who is not on any whatsapp group of Nishtar to date finally makes his first appearance in N44 colours on my vlog !
He is a proud father, a son , a “rang” player , a shooter, a physician, a keen traveller, a cricket fan but most of all a very good classfellow, Syed Mujtaba Ali Shah Rizvi !
