Its been a year of travelling. I’m glad I stayed in Multan for one more week , that too very next to the alma matar at Nishtar. After leaving Rana Tariq’s, I head mostly in the direction of Nishtar. One has to only recall when his father ‘s clinic was very close to the campus in Nishtarian times.
He was well known in Nishtarian era so I don’t need to give you further hints. Ophthalmology was the biggest hint and I ll stop at that . The very first roll number from boys side. He had an interesting journey from Nishtar to abroad to back to Multan.
In Nishtar I can imagine his demeanour with a moustache , the white overall , sweating in the heat and found in dissection hall quite frequently in his A batch with Adnan, Mateen , Athar and other A first names in that nerdy group of starters.Usually the information regarding stages, substages and tests would disseminate from that batch as they would be eager to engage in all sorts of a demonstrations , note taking and book reading.
As he described the role of a demonstrator and what it meant to a 1st year student, I began to reflect that huge dissection hall. It seemed the biggest bugbear of a student in 1995 . How to actually appease and impress that individual as the whole blood supply of the 1st prof would start from that character. They had a control over the student, if the student wanted to survive . The substages would form the arteries by which a stage was set. The dissection and spotting would be innervated by this individual who would be the key to getting the stage eventually sorted. And as we all know, Stages were the key territories to making anatomy passable.
Anyways, there are vast number of incidents linked with dissection itself and he describes a few of them in the vlog. He also mentioned a significant character who started the vlog series a year ago. He was our friend, Khalid Manzoor. The joint start with Imran Janjua was always envisaged in the birth of the vlogs . I am glad Imran agreed with gentle persuasion to become the 1st on that June night to record. So many have followed since this one year and more joining.
For now though …. here he is in the 47th edition of N44 vlogs … Yes you would have guessed… the boys flag bearer roll number wise, our esteemed colleague and friend , Roll no. 70 , Ali Afzal Bodla !
